Currently four species in North America. These medium
sized clubtails are mostly brown or black in coloration with varying
shades of gray, green or yellow. The abdomen is
moderately clubbed in males with a yellow cerci. The wings have a
brown spot at the base. Legs are short.
They are generally seen on sandy shorelines and inhabit sand-bottomed
streams, rivers and lakes. Larvae are sand burrowers. |
