EYES: Note the size, color, and shape of the eye.
Eyes widely separated - Clubtails
Eyes barely touch at a center point - Spiketails
Eyes meet partially along a seam - Cruisers, Emeralds and Skimmers
Eyes meet along a long seam - Darners
FACE: while face color is variable, it can be a clue to ID. Look for facial stripes or distinctive markings.
Is the face uniformly one color or bicolored?
Does it have any markings, stripes or spots
Is the pattern in the shape of a bulls eye or capital T?
Remember: Not all Emeralds have green eyes, and some Cruisers and Spiketails do have bright green eyes.
